Our commitment

Park Royal United Church (“PRUC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and to information we gather in the course of our ministry and community life.

As a congregation of The United Church of Canada, we handle personal information in keeping with applicable Canadian privacy law, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the privacy principles of the United Church.

— 02

Information we collect

We only collect personal information that you choose to provide or that is necessary for our ministry. This may include:

Contact details

Your name, email address, phone number, or mailing address — for example when you submit a contact form, sign up for our newsletter, or inquire about a wedding, baptism, or funeral.

Newsletter subscription

The email address and name you provide when subscribing to our monthly newsletter.

Giving information

Details needed to process a donation or set up Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR), and to issue official tax receipts. Online credit-card gifts are handled by CanadaHelps; we do not store your card details on our website.

Event & rental inquiries

Information you provide when booking space or registering for an event.

Website usage

Basic, non-identifying analytics such as pages visited and general location, which help us improve the site. We do not use this to identify individuals.

— 03

How we use your information

We use the personal information you provide for the following purposes:

To respond

To answer your questions, inquiries, and requests for pastoral care or ceremonies.

To communicate

To send our newsletter and updates you have asked to receive. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.

To administer giving

To process donations, issue tax receipts, and maintain accurate financial records as required of a registered charity.

To organize community life

To coordinate events, rentals, volunteer teams, and ministry programs.

— 04

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only when necessary to operate our ministry — for example with trusted service providers such as CanadaHelps (online donations) or our email newsletter platform, who are bound to protect it — or where required by law. Information is never shared with third parties for their own marketing.

— 05

Cookies & analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working smoothly and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used. You can set your browser to refuse cookies; some features may not function as intended if you do. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.
