How We Organize

Park Royal United Church is part of the Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council within the Eastern Region of the United Church of Canada.

We believe that strong governance is essential to a healthy and vibrant faith community. Our congregation is guided by a collaborative and democratic leadership model, supported by strong and active committees and grounded in the dedication of our volunteers.

While we currently operate within an Official Board structure, we are actively exploring governance models that will more effectively support the changing and expanding needs of our community - including a commitment to streamlining our structure and moving toward a more flexible, talent-based approach to leadership.

The Official Board oversees the administration of church affairs on behalf of the congregation, and this work is completed by the Session, Stewards, Trustees, and Ministry and Personnel.

The Session

The Board of Elders provides spiritual leadership for the congregation, nurturing our life in worship, faith formation, pastoral care, and outreach.

The Committee of Stewards

Oversees the practical and administrative aspects of church life - stewardship, staff support, property care, capital projects, and financial management.

The Trustees

Take responsibility for the Church's physical assets and financial investments. As a Charity, the Church's assets are “Held in Trust” by this Board.

Ministry & Personnel

Oversees, supports, and supervises all ministry personnel and lay staff — balancing human resource duties with pastoral care to ensure healthy ministry teams.
